Watch Out

When I’m climbing in a tree, I like to climb so high
I like to sit there in the branches with my head up in the sky
But when I’m high, I hold on tight, ‘cause I don’t want to fall
Something inside me is a little afraid, I can hear something call

Something says “Watch out, watch out, be careful
Take your time, take your care
Something says “Watch out, watch out, be careful”
That’s what it means when you’re scared

When I come up to a street, I gotta get to the other side
Then I see the cars and trucks as they go driving by
Something inside me wants to run as fast as I can go
But something inside me still is scared, and that something says “Go slow!”

What if people were never afraid, what if they never got scared
They’d be jumping out of trees, running in the streets, with the cars and trucks still there
All your feelings tell you something that you need to know
And when you’re afraid you’re just telling yourself that you should go slow
